I run, I strength train, I practice yoga, I cycle, I eat clean and I enjoy wine time. I underwent brachioplasty (upper arm lift) and upper, outer thigh liposuction on 22/09/15. Lover of humor; the good, the bad and the dirty kind. Was able to finally get my weight under control and I'm half my size from my highest weight. In my 3rd year of maintenance. First Nation Canadian. My son is my heart. This is my life in selfies...

The post about a change in schedule and changing up my diet...
Busy day, so this is a late "meantime, yesterday on Instagram" post...
It's #coffeetime and boy are my shoulders sore today. I know it's from the pull-ups I did yesterday. Can't comfortably raise my arms over my head. Drinking a couple cups while I bitch and moan about having to run soon. My whole day has been messed up. Got a cancellation for a client meeting which means that I don't have to drive into Toronto now but I still need to pick my dad up at some point. He's spending the weekend with us. We're going to Safari Niagara tomorrow. So maybe I'll just do that this evening. Or I will drive in and get some stuff done then pick my dad up. I can do stuff at home too, and I'm usually more productive at home. Decisions, decisions. Gotta get my gear on. I've a massage in 3 hours...
Completely dripping in sweat after my run today. The humidity was thick! And the rain was coming. I just missed it. A touch disappointing. I love running in summer rain. And running in the rain makes you 50% more hardcore than running the same route on a sunny day:-) After lots of internet research, I am going to work HIIT into more workouts during the week. Most effective way to get leaner and boost your metabolism, which I already knew. We'll see what my nutritionist has to say. Ha! I already know what she said but I'm behind on my posts. That wealth of information is for my next post. Stay tuned...
So this is my reality. My glory days of maintenance are over. Once upon a time I could follow the Paleo lifestyle and eat nuts, fruit and starchy vegetables in abundance and I'd stay the same. That's when running was still fairly new to me. My metabolism was on fire and I didn't have to worry about portion control. But my body's gotten used to so much cardio and now I have to be careful. That's where strength training comes in. The more muscle you have, the more you burn while in rest.
When I first became Paleo I loved the freedom I had. I was eating healthy, but as much as I wanted. Now reality has set in and my metabolism isn't as efficient. But I can get back there. I just need to figure out my nutritional formula. I'm not in a hurry to lose this extra fat. I think 10 pounds of fat over a 4 month period is very reasonable. So I will give the high protein, low carb, low fat diet my nutritionist made for me a month and then reevaluate. I'm also going to talk to Tony about training for toning. He seems to think I want to look like Rocky Balboa. I want to be a lean, strong boxing chick. I figure I've nothing to lose but my fat. And I can do anything for a month...
