The post about a very special day, a run and an awesome dress deal...
- Meanwhile, yesterday on Instagram...
- It's #coffeetime and today is a special day. My boy turns 8 at 5:58 pm!!! Delivered by c-section at McMaster Children's Hospital which is a teaching hospital. The OR was attended by the operating room staff, my husband and I, and 30 medical students. Real cozy and intimate.
- The question and answer period was the best as it was pointed out that my pubic bone was fused shut so the 12 hours I labored was for naught. That's why I couldn't dilate. Poor Julien had a bruise on his forehead where it was pressing against my pelvis. Ah the memories. No difference though. The end result was amazing. My boy is an incredible child and the absolute best thing in my life. Today we celebrate his life.
- This morning, I run. My legs finally feel normal again and I'm gonna take them out for a spin. I've got to get my dad to mass at 11:30, then we're heading to Tucker's Marketplace for Julien's birthday lunch. Lunch is the only time we could get seated. And I'm crazy because I have to grocery shop today. It's going to be crazy. Since everything is closed tomorrow people like me will be scrounging. Fingers crossed everyone's celebrating the holiday early. Like all of Hamilton...
- This morning I ran. Not like the wind but I ran. I felt every foot strike down on my outer thighs until they went numb by 3k. It's not painful but it aches and is uncomfortable. But, I don't really care. My pace was better than it was the last time I ran 10 days ago. I was going to do a much shorter run but figured if I could endure Tony's double leg day last week, I could belt out 6k. And I did. I went to church with my dad this morning then we went to Tucker's Marketplace for Julien's birthday lunch. I ate all the turkey, ham and roast beef. I may be having a touch of the meat sweats right now. I love turkey and ham. Time to wine, then I'm making chicken soup for a late dinner. Julien's favorite...
- A fashion and #winetime post together. I wanted to show you what I wore to church today. My $5 dress from Smart Set. You know how I love a bargain. I bought the large because it was stretchy and I've got ample hips. But alas, it's a touch loose. Not complaining though. It still looked good on. And I liked seeing my reflection while wearing it because I love my curves. Must wear it with a padded push up bra. It gaped in the front when I sat.
- I changed as soon as I got back from brunch and it's yoga pants and a tank top for the night. I'm on my second glass of wine. If I'm splurging for Thanksgiving, my splurge is the wine. I often get asked how I eat for holidays and celebrations. Exactly the same as any other day. Wine is my vice and that will be my treat for today...
- OMG! Look at my little peanut. Just minutes old. He was born on the Thursday after Thanksgiving in 2007. His birthday is always very close to the holiday and when he was younger he legit thought Thanksgiving celebrations were for his birthday. Julien would like to thank you all for his birthday wishes. I let him read them and you made him smile. Thank you for making his day. We celebrated fairly low key. He had his party with his friends last weekend. He visits his other grandparents tomorrow. That's where he gets spoiled.
- I got him the Mario Maker video game. He loves it. I don't understand it. I made home made chicken soup for dinner. He loves that too and he helped my dad and I do yard work late in the afternoon. He says he had a good birthday. So I'm hoping that's true. He was certainly helpful and eager to just spend time with us. He's such an awesome boy. Wonder how long before Mario Maker gets old. The music is annoying and I really don't get it. Donkey Kong. Now there's a video game:-) And just in case you're wondering, I drank 2 glasses of wine for my Thanksgiving splurge...
